The freeride descents offer a great sense of freedom, launching yourself on skis in the fresh snow in evocative environments such as canals, canyons, wide slopes... far from crowded slopes, in an enveloping silence. Here are some suggestions:

Val Mesdì

The most famous off-piste itinerary in the Dolomites, unmissable because in addition to the beautiful descent of 1200 meters in altitude for 6 km, it allows you to cross the entire Sella massif in a grandiose setting.

Difficulty: medium; required level BS (good skier with good off-piste technique)

Number of participants: minimum 1 – maximum 6 people

Cost:

  • 370 euros for 1 participant

  • 200 euros per person with 2 participants

  • 150 euros per person with 3 – 4 participants

  • 120 euros per person with 5 – 6 participants

The cost includes the accompanying Alpine Guide, RC insurance and rental of the avalanche self-rescue kit

Canali del Sella

(Val Lasties, Forcella del Pordoi, Val Setus, Joel, Holzer…)

In the freeride paradise… the Sella massif offers spectacular descents along the numerous canals and valleys that descend from the summit plateau which can be reached with the Sass Pordoi cable car. The itineraries are very different from each other and require good off-piste descent technique (up to the level of excellent skiers for the steepest couloirs).

Difficulty: medium – difficult depending on the itinerary. Minimum level required: BS (good skier with good off-piste technique); OS level (excellent skier with excellent off-piste descent technique on steep terrain) for the Joel and Holzer couloirs

Number of participants: minimum 1 – maximum 4/5 people

Marmolada

The queen of the Dolomites offers various possibilities for freeride descents of medium to high difficulty on almost always powdery snow. The environment is majestic and exciting, finding yourself walking along the most beautiful lines of this glacier at 3000 meters.

Difficulty: medium – difficult depending on the itinerary. Minimum level required: BS (good skier with good off-piste technique)

Number of participants: minimum 1 – maximum 5/6 people

3-day freeride tour in the Dolomites
