DESCRIPTION

Beautiful, highly satisfying excursion in a wild and intact environment.

The Sella massif is a Dolomite group with the characteristic shape of a castle which with its mighty walls overlooks the four Ladin valleys: Val Gardena to the west, Val di Fassa to the south, Livinallongo to the east and Val Badia to the north. This excursion crosses its immense summit plateau in a lunar atmosphere at almost 3000 meters above sea level, where you have the clear sensation of being on an island made of very white rock: the Sella is the typical example of a marine atoll formed in the times of Middle Triassic (between approximately 236 and 230 million years ago). From here the hiker’s eyes are lost in contemplation of these surreal scenarios. Before reaching the summit plateau, you climb along the wild Val Lasties to reach the Antersass pass and from here the Antersass peak (Zwischenkofel) at 2907 metres. The well-deserved break takes place at Rifugio Boè with its amazing view of the steep entrance to Val Mesdì, one of the most popular destinations for freeride skiers. The descent is carried out along the steep zigzag path that leads to the Pordoi Pass.
