DESCRIPTION

Beautiful and unprecedented excursion on a border territory on the trail of the Great War 15-18 which allows you to enjoy the panorama of one of the most beautiful terraces in the Dolomites.

The itinerary starts from the Passo Valparola refuge at 2178 meters near the picturesque Lake Valparola and first follows the southern perimeter of Setsas, skirting Le Pale de Gerda and Pico Setsas with enchanting views of Col di Lana, Sief, the Agordine Dolomites, Cadorine and Ampezzane. After about 3 hours of walking you reach the top at 2571 meters where you stop for a well-deserved lunch break enjoying the breathtaking 360° panorama of the main Dolomite mountain groups.

On the way back, you descend along the ridge, rejoining the path that closes the ring around Setsas, following its perimeter north up to the Valparola lake. The day ends with a visit to the Great War Museum located at the Tre Sassi Fort adjacent to the Valparola Refuge.
